REPORTS TO: Building Level Principal

 

SUMMARY: The Education Support Aide will provide support to school staff as directed by the school principal.

 

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Academic Support

  1. Adheres to the administrative procedures of the assigned work location.
  2. Offers quality customer service by greeting people, answering general questions, and providing guidance where appropriate.
  3. Assumes classroom duties and responsibilities of the absent teacher.
  4. Follows the teacher’s written lesson plans and class routine and consults with the principal or designee to resolve questions and/or concerns.
  5. Prepares a written summary of activities completed by students, including special situations or problems encountered.
  6. Adheres to all safety procedures, rules, and policies to ensure the well-being of all students.
  7. Maintains active supervision of students during all work and duty assignments.
  8. Develops and maintains a positive learning environment that is supportive of all students.
  9. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information, respecting personal privacy.

Professionalism

  1. Promotes a positive image of the school district’s program to the public.
  2. Attend professional development activities where appropriate.
  3. Reports regularly and punctually to assigned work location and notifies principal or designee of impending absence in a timely manner.
  4. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the teacher and/or principal.

                                                                                                                                   

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. At least two years of experience in customer service and office work.
  2. Computer proficient in MS Suite software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and various network operating systems.
